Oklahoma Team Wins High Steaks Event in Lawton
Oklahomans Savor Beef Cook-Off Success
Six teams shared their recipes for success at the 14th Annual Limousin Beef Cook-Off July 10 in Lawton, Okla. Each prepared a beef dish while keeping with its chosen theme – from costumes to serving style. The Limi Boosters hosted the contest as part of the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC).
The judges awarded the 'Oklahoma Party Animals' first-place honors and $200 for their state treasury. The 'Romeo and Julienne' team from Arkansas won the $100 second prize and the first-ever People’s Choice Award.
This year’s judges were Haley Begert, a Limousin producer from Allison, Texas; Bob Etherton, a member of the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF) Board of Directors from Dawson, Ill.; and Kyle Haley, Guthrie, Okla., editor of the Limousin World magazine.
The Limi Boosters are NALF’s auxiliary organization. They support and promote the North American Limousin Junior Association (NALJA) and help NALF promote the Limousin breed.
